Revised GSM Visa Structure and Pass Marks

Independent and Sponsored

Effective from 01 September 2007, the revised skilled migration regulations that currently apply are:

APPLICANTS OFFSHORE

Skilled (Migrant) (Class VE)

For this new permanent Class there are now three new subclasses of visa.

  1. Independent Subclass 175 (replaces 136 and 861). Pass mark is 120.
  2. Sponsored Subclass 176 (replaces 137, 138, and 862). Pass mark is 100.

Skilled (Provisional) (Class VF)

For this new temporary Class there are two new subclasses of visa.

  1. Regional-Sponsored Subclass 475 (replaces 495, 496, and 863). Pass mark is 100.
  2. Recognised Graduate Subclass 476. No points test.

APPLICANTS ONSHORE

Skilled (Residence) Class VB

For this new permanent Class there are three new subclasses of visa.

  1. Independent Subclass 885 (replaces 880). Pass mark is 120.
  2. Sponsored Subclass 886 (replaces 881). Pass mark is 120.
  3. Regional visa Subclass 887 (replaces 883 and 137). No pass mark.

Skilled (Provisional) Class VC

For this new temporary Class there are two new subclasses of visa.

  1. Graduate Subclass 485 (replaces 497). No pass mark.
  2. Regional Sponsored Subclass 487 (replaces 495 and 882). Pass mark is 100.
